How we use 3-D measurement technology to create better spaces
At Ittner, one of our high-tech capabilities is the use of our FARO imaging system.
FARO Technologies is the world’s most trusted source for 3-D capture, measurement, imaging and analysis technology. The company develops and markets computer-aided measurement and imaging devices and software for the following vertical markets:
Factory Metrology – High-precision 3-D measurement, imaging and comparison of parts and complex structures within production and quality assurance processes
Construction BIM-CIM – 3-D capture of buildings and other construction projects to document complex structures and perform quality control, planning and preservation
Public Safety Forensics – Capture and analysis of on-site, real-world data to investigate crashes, crimes and fires, as well as to plan security activities and provide virtual reality training for public safety personnel
Product Design – Capture detailed and precise 3-D data from existing products permitting CAD analysis and redesign, after market design and part replication
3-D Machine Vision – 3D vision for both control and measurement to the manufacturing floor through 3-D sensors and custom solutions
FARO is a tool we use at Ittner Architects to show our clients real-time imaging and video of their facilities. The 3-D scanning allows us to take our clients on virtual walk-throughs of their facilities. This helps to visualize existing conditions and import the scanned imaging into our Revit software, allowing us to create construction documents. To learn more about FARO visit https://www.faro.com/.
